Personal care is a broad term used to describe the support given to people in relation to personal hygiene. This includes bathing and washing, dressing and changing, toileting and assisting to use the toilet - amongst other things. You may already have routines in place and so we work to these as best as possible, offering discreet and dignified support in a way that is most comfortable to you.
If there are things that you'd prefer to continue doing for yourself - that is absolutely fine. We'll speak with you during your assessment to understand your exact requirements and preferences.
Our carers undertake thorough training which is focused on teaching practical personal care skills, as well as ensuring that independence and respect are maintained at all times.
I really do appreciate the care afforded to my relative by Integral Care, and I am confident that the carers are all doing their best throughout this difficult time. The staff I have met during our visits are lovely, and they are definitely "on the ball". If anything is wrong, they quickly alert the relevant authority, whether it be the doctor, district nurse or the paramedics.
